When your Internet Service Provider sets up your connection, they register your computer’s MAC address with their system. Your computer has a hardware address called a MAC that never changes, and therefore uniquely identifies your computer. This router incompatibility is based on fact, but is usually phrased in a way that makes it misleading and untrue. If customer service has ever fed you that line, you should know that it is simply not true. I too have been told that my Internet service is “not compatible with routers”. This problem is all too common, and I’ve actually had it a few times myself.
Is there anything I can do to fix this situation? I need the router, since I have multiple computers in my home. The Virgin router and Belkin routers literally have 'guidance' 'pop-up-screens' the both explain what the option achieves, but also provides alternatives along with links in the pop-up screens that take you straight away to additional explanations and info to help make an informed decision, or help with configuring the router for the desired requirements.

Having previously been with Virgin, and used a Belkin router, where viewing ALL connected devices MAC address was as simple as could be. I had already tried the 'Expert Mode> WiFi> MAC filter' route, but the 'MAC filter' only shows the MAC address of the laptop I am currently using to access the online router settings page, it doesn't register or show any of the other devices that are connected to my router wirelessly or wired, like TVs, music-streamers, CCTV network DVR, and CCTV cameras, laptops, PCs, tablets, mobiles, etc, etc.ALL connected to my network!.it doesn't even register or show the actual router's MAC address lol. Thanks for the reply Keith.unfortunately neither of those routes provide a list of connected device MAC addresses.at least not on my settings pages.
